Our materials

A lot of work and attention to detail goes into our curling ribbons. Find out what materials we use, how our curling ribbons are made and what thoughts went through our heads while we were making them.

Original Velvet

curling tape

Crushed velvet is a soft and stretchy fabric, unlike traditional velvet, which is heavy and thick. The fine fibers prevent hair from tangling, but provide enough grip to keep it on the band (unlike silk). This material is ideal for straight hair and is also vegan.

Satin Cotton

curling tape

Cotton satin is made from natural cotton and owes its smooth and shiny feel to the special weave. This material combines the advantages of cotton and silk: the curling ribbon is as breathable as cotton and as soft to wear as silk. Unlike conventional silk, cotton satin does not come from silkworms and is therefore vegan.
