You've probably already noticed: Our curl bands come in two versions: The Natural Curl Band (formerly Satin Cotton ) and the Original Curl Band (formerly Original Velvet ).
Both create beautiful curls – but differ in material and effect on different hair types.
Here's a brief overview 👇
The Natural Curl Band (formerly Satin Cotton)
Our Natural Curl Band is made from EcoVero™ viscose and rayon.
The surface is smooth, soft, and breathable.
Especially suitable for: Naturally wavy to curly hair that tends to frizz
Why viscose?
The smooth structure helps reduce frizz and promotes a natural shine. Furthermore, EcoVero™ is a more sustainable viscose fiber, produced using less water and CO₂.
In short: Ideal for naturally wavy hair that tends to get frizzy quickly.
The Original Curl Band (formerly Original Velvet)
The original curl band is made of soft velvet. The surface has a slight grip and gives the hair extra hold.
Especially suitable for: Smooth or slippery hair that otherwise has difficulty staying on the band.
Why velvet?
The velvety, slightly textured surface helps the hair stay in place better on the band – without slipping or tangling. Smooth materials like satin or silk are often too slippery for very straight hair, so the strands don't have enough grip.
In short: Perfect if your hair is very straight and curls would otherwise fall out quickly.
Our conclusion
👉 Naturally wavy hair that tends to frizz? → Natural curl bands
👉 Smooth or slippery hair? → Original curl bands
Both curl bands are vegan and hair-friendly – the main difference lies in the surface and hold.
